| 1.11.2007 Comet 17P/Holmes, sum of 100 images taken between 8:30 - 9:38 PM UT, each 15s exposed and contrast enhanced by unsharp masking. Now the very unnatural structures in the core of comet Holmes become clearly visible. Imaged with CCD-Camera2, 15s exposed, 50cm RC, f=4m at Harpoint Observatory. The bright vertical streak at the star to the middle right in the image is caused by over-saturation of the CCD pixel as the CCD-Camera2 uses no anti blooming gate. |
